Now there’s a title for you. Rinne Groff has been on the rise for awhile now, so this should at least be interesting. Here’s the press release:

PERFORMANCE SPACE 122 PRESENTS
OBie Award winning Playwright
RINNE GROFF’s
orange lemon egg canary
Obie Award-winning playwright Rinne Groff and director Michael Sexton– the respective writer and director of Jimmy Carter Was a Democrat – return to P.S. 122 armed with a hatful of cheap tricks, hurt feelings, and beguiling questions about sex, theatre, ghosts and the Two of Clubs in Groff’s new play Orange Lemon Egg Canary, which will run from July 12 through July 30.

In Orange Lemon Egg Canary, Great is a magician with a dangerous past and a promising future. His bright young new assistant Trilby is looking for the truth behind the illusion. In this mysterious love story filled with top hats, disappearing coins, floating objects, and seemingly impossible feats, every player has a few tricks up his sleeve. Is it all smoke and mirrors? Only the lovely assistant knows for sure.

Featuring actor/magician Steve Cuiffo (Major Bang) as Great, Aubrey Dollar (Juvenilia) as Trilby, Emily Swallow as Henrietta and Laura Kai Chen as Egypt, with sets by Andromache Chalfant, lights by Ben Stanton, costumes by Oana Botez-Ban and sound by Eric Shim.
