From one of the writers of Grey’s Anatomy! Directed by an actor from Queer as Folk! Starring the second cousin of the director of… okay, not fair.
The title is either a good one or will make you cringe, depending on your level of Eagles fandom. If you prefer Don Henley solo, brother, you’ve found your play. Got good notices in L.A., as well an Ovation Award nomination.

Crooked Neck Productions will present the New York Premiere of ME, MY GUITAR AND DON HENLEY by 2006 Emmy Award nominee Krista Vernoff (Grey’s Anatomy). The West Coast Premiere was nominated for a 2005 Ovation Award for Best World Premiere Play. This limited engagement will be directed by Peter Paige (Queer as Folk). Previews begin October 3rd with opening scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th.

In ME, MY GUITAR AND DON HENLEY the family patriarch is on his deathbed. This time of sadness prompts a series of colorful women from one family to explore their own insights into memory and loss. Ultimately, this unique drama offers an intimate, witty look at the complex nature of relationships among women.

Krista Vernoff is an Executive Producer and the Head Writer on the ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy and was recently nominated for a 2006 Emmy Award. Previously, she wrote for Fox’s Wonderfalls and for three seasons of Charmed on the WB. Other credits include Fox’s Time of Your Life and NBC’s Law and Order. In 2005, she wrote and produced her first pilot, Introducing Lennie Rose for Touchstone and ABC with director Ken Olin. Along with the entire writing staff of Grey’s Anatomy, she recently took home a Writer’s Guild Award for Best New Show. Krista holds a BFA from Boston University.

Peter Paige is best known for his five-year run as Emmett on the Showtime series Queer as Folk. In addition to his television work, Paige is an accomplished regional theatre actor who has performed nearly every genre of play from the Greeks to Shakespeare to contemporary work at major theatres across the country. As a director, notable credits include, The Skin of Our Teeth, Twelfth Night, The Actor’s Nightmare and Flora, The Red Menace. Say Uncle, Paige’s directorial debut feature film starring Kathy Najimy, Anthony Clark, Melanie Lynskey, and Gabrielle Union, was called, “an engaging and insightful entertainment with considerably more substance than most small-budget, independent films,” by the LA Times.

In 2001 Rachel Jackson & Stephanie Nasteff, along with fellow William Esper Studio graduate Ed Swidey, founded Crooked Neck Productions. Past works include Unspoken: 3 Plays by Edward Allan Baker, Dolores, Lady of Fadima, and Specter in New York and the Los Angeles premiere of Bash.
