MARY STUART

See a show, get some exercise. Usually these sorts of things are Shakespearean in nature, but this is different: MARY STUART by Friedrich Schiller.

New York Classical Theatre Runs Downtown to Lower Manhattan to perform a heart-stopping thrill of a run of Friedrich Schiller’s

“Mary Stuart”.

Produced in association with Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, this work is also part of LMCC’s Sitelines and an official production of the River to River Festival.

Filled with court-intrigue, this cloak-and-dagger production of

“Mary Stuart” is staged in historic Castle Clinton and the majestic surrounding gardens changing location from scene to scene

every 10-15 minutes.

Set in 16th century England, Mary Queen of Scots awaits her execution by Elizabeth I. Both decendents of the famous Henry VIII, these cousins never exchanged more than letters in real life, but Schiller helps us imagine a confrontation between two of Europe’s mightiest female monarchs while overlooking the Statue of Liberty!

Cast includes: William Connell, Sean Hagerty, Patricia Marie Kelley, James Knight, Michael Marion, Bryant Mason, Don Mayo, Mary Jo McConnell, Alex Pappas, Tyler Pierce & Kim Stauffer.

There are no lines to wait on, no reservations to make,
and no tickets to buy! Just show up in front of Castle Clinton!

New York Classical provides a great night of FREE theatre for the family, a date, friends, or even those who are flying solo!
