OK, so the song is really Feel Like Makin’ Love, but this is close enough. Previews start October 6th, opening is October 20th. The play is “MAKEOUT SESSION”. We are sounding too much like the press release. It is below. It quotes Nietzsche. And The Beatles. Read it and buy tickets (well, that’s the idea anyway). Check out the Calendar for the dates.
“MAKEOUT SESSION”
KENAN MINKOFF’S
TWO-ACT TRIBUTE
TO
THE IRRESISTIBILITY OF SEX
AND
THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF LOVEWILL HAVE ITS WORLD PREMIERE
OCTOBER 20th
AT
TBG ARTS CENTER
PREVIEWS BEGIN OCTOBER 6th“MAKEOUT SESSION” is the story of a couple who meet in 1987 at the age of fifteen.
They fall hopelessly in-love and helplessly in-lust.
They meet again in 1997 because they cannot but do otherwise.
They obviously have names; but we come to know them as “Boy” and “Girl” as we voyeuristically join their emotional pilgrimage back to each other.
This is an EVERYCOUPLE whose absorbing story serves as much as a warning as it does an entertainment.
ACT I, in which they makeout 27 times, deals with the issue of virginity.
ACT II, in which they makeout once, details the experience of a broken heart.
The play is by Kenan Minkoff.
The music is by the Beatles.
“Boy” is being played by Andrew Pastides.
“Girl” is being played by Adrian Wyatt.
Directed by Matt Cowart, “MAKEOUT SESSION” is being designed by Travis McHale (lights and scenery) and Elisa Richards (costumes).

FROM FRIEDRICH NIETZSCHE
“The same emotions in man and woman are, however, different in tempo: therefore man and woman never cease to misunderstand one another.”
FROM THE BEATLES
YOU’VE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY
John Lennon and Paul McCartneyHere I stand head in hand
Turn my face to the wall
If she’s gone I can’t go on
Feelin’ two-foot smallEverywhere people stare
Each and every day
I can see them laugh at me
And I hear them sayHey you’ve got to hide your love away
Hey you’ve got to hide your love awayHow can I even try
I can never win
Hearing them, seeing them
In the state I’m inHow could she say to me
Love will find a way
Gather round all you clowns
Let me hear you sayHey you’ve got to hide your love away
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away
[…] The web site for ‘Makeout Session’ is cute. Blistex navigation elements, very nice. Not nearly enough photos of folks makin’ out, however, especially for a play that claims to be An exploration of love, and an exploration of the overwhelming question “are they going to kiss?” Well, maybe they’ll post more soon.
